3/100 AF CHALLENGE

It is so late for me to be starting this but I wanted to check in and say I am still here. I decided to catch up on some blogs and leave comments, something I have been quite lax with recently.

I started reading a new blog http://shantiwantstobesober.blogspot.co.uk and she had a video (Gosh is that still the correct word?) about psychology but done in a really cool cartoon format drawn in real time. Go have a look.

Today was OK although I did get the major crave about 4 but rode the wave of emotions very well stopping at one point mid dog walk and not moving until I had taken 10 cleansing breaths. It was only then I realise how tense and wound up I was, I did it a few more times before I got home. Dinner was an impromptu steak dinner as it was 3 days out of date but such a beautiful thing and delicious, I always eat out of date food so no serious worries here. With dinner I had one Becks Blue, I seem to have done ok with AF beer but still don't dare try AF wine having tried it once only to the go buy REAL wine. Be careful of your triggers, some are fine others not just watch your behaviour around it and notice any compulsions.

In case you missed comments yesterday, myself, Red and TWTIK all signed up for Belle's 100 day challenge and I am quite motivated for the first time in ages. I have always resisted challenges and can be a bit defeatist but this seemed to catch me at the right time and I seized the chance. No regrets here and I hope the other two are still feeling good about joining.

Thank you for all the really encouraging comments yesterday, so lovely and wow did they help today.

  1. Right here with you, Ginger. Just finally fallen into bed to relax. On cue, a small child has just started crying, so I must go, but will check in tomorrow. Red xx

    1. I love my daughter so much but I do not miss the time when like you I would get into bed exhausted only to have to go tend to her needs. I hope you are getting enough rest to get better. Glad you still here though.

    1. That might be the key for me, having others alongside at the same time. I am such a contrary bigger sometimes and wil not go with the flow just to be... well contrary. I feel like I want it more this time.

  4. Good on you Ginger! Belle's challenge was a lifesaver for me. For some reason, making a pledge to just one other person, as well as myself, helped not drink for 102 days last year and now this year I am up to day 185. You can do this. And it will be great doing it with your sober buddies! A x

    1. Yes and Belle is putting out some cracking posts recently. I have printed two of them out to put in my sober toolbox. On a different note, have you seen Wendy comment anywhere recently? I see you and several other supporters of us newbies leaving comments but now Tipsy. Hope she is ok.

    1. Thanks Ripleybelle. I keep having phantom tastes and smells of vodka but I am playing the story to the end. Did you see the video in shanti's blog, would be great for your life coaching understanding.

    1. Enjoyed your Fork in the Road post (Anne if you reading this I don't know that band either ha ha) so sad to have lost someone so young that has memories tied to your youth. Tiny Tippler on board too. Maybe this is the start of a tsunami of 100 day-ers. There is that voice again telling me not to be too cocky. WOLFIE as Belle would say.
